Intro to K9 Nose Work® class will take place indoors at Theodore Parker Church in West Roxbury, MA once weekly for 6 sessions. Each session will be 50 minutes long and will take place on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm.
K9 Nose Work® is a fun activity for dogs of all ages, sizes, and levels of physical ability. The activity gives your dog the opportunity to use and develop their natural ability to detect odor. While developing this skill, they build independence and confidence while you build the ability to understand subtle dog body language through observation. This game allows our dogs to learn at their own pace, on their own terms, and it also strengthens our bond with our dogs.
For this class, each dog will have time in the building alone to help build confidence and independence off leash, which means the other dogs in the course will be outside while a dog is working. There will be an informational email after registration that will go over logistics, safety, considerations for all weather conditions, and frequently asked questions. If you think your dog will have difficulty waiting in the car you should plan to bring an extra handler to remain in the car with your dog so you can observe the rest of the class. Additionally, please contact me prior to registration if your dog has shown any aggression towards dogs or humans.
Intro to K9 Nose Work® is taught by Aubrey Sperry, CDBC, CNWI, CPDT-KA.
Please contact us to discuss and register for intermediate and advanced K9 Nose Work courses.

This course is appropriate for dogs that have taken a beginner and intermediate obedience course and that are tolerant of the presence of people and dogs in their space.

Our Happy Clients

Aubrey worked with us after our dog developed some leash reactivity. She was wonderful and gave us practical guidelines to rebuild our dog’s confidence and boundaries. We went on to participate in her Intro to Nosework class which was fantastic and would also highly recommend it.

We’ve taken both group lessons and private lessons with Aubrey, and we’ve seen such a positive change in our dog. She’s a reactive dog who needed to build confidence. We were struggling a lot for quite some time, but now she is much more manageable and doesn’t feel the need to bark at every person she passes. And Aubrey has become one of her approved human friends!
