These classes are great for proofing behaviors that your dog finds challenging in distracting settings, learning new skills, and bonding with your dog while doing fun activities. Advanced Obedience: CGC Prep
Beginner Obedience class will meet once a week for 7 weeks. Each session is 50 mins long. *Note: the first session will be an orientation session for humans only.
What can your dog expect? Topics covered will include focused attention and engagement, hand target, sit, down, coming when called, leave it, and loose leash walking. This course is great for young dogs, newly adopted dogs, or dogs that need a brush up on their behaviors.
This course is appropriate for dogs older than 4 months of age and for those dogs that do not excessively bark, lunge, or growl at strangers and other dogs. Please contact us if you would like to know if this class is right for you.
Fee: $245 for 7 weeks
Intermediate Obedience class will meet once a week for 7 consecutive weeks. Each session is 50 mins long. *Note: the first session will be an orientation session for humans only.
Topics will include focused attention and engagement, staying in the sit and down positions with distractions, polite greetings, loose leash walking past distractions, go to a mat, and heel. This course is great for those that want to continue their training and learn how to apply basic obedience skills to real world situations.
Prerequisites include:
- Have taken Beginner Obedience with Sit Pretty or with another positive reinforcement trainer within the last two years.
- Use of mark and reward-based training and have an established marker.
- Have the following behaviors on verbal and/or hand cue: sit, down, hand target, loose leash walking, recall, and leave-it.

This course is appropriate for dogs older than 6 months of age and for those dogs that do not excessively bark, lunge, or growl at strangers and other dogs. If your dog has trouble working around other dogs or humans, please reach out. Our new “Reactivity Meets Real World” program may be right for you. Please contact us if you would like to audit the class without your dog or would like to observe the class to determine if it’s right for you.
For this course to run, there is a minimum of 4 students required, this course will be postponed if we cannot meet course requirements.

Intro to K9 Nose Work will meet once a week for 6 weeks. Each session is 50 minutes long.
Your dog can expect to use and develop their natural ability to detect odor while you build skills to understand subtle dog body language through observing your and other dogs search. This game allows your dog to learn at their own pace, on their own terms, strengthening your bond with your dog. Each dog will have time in the search area without other dogs to help build confidence and independence on and off leash. Each dog will rest in between runs in your car or crated in a separate room of the building during the other dogs’ turns. If you think your dog will have difficulty waiting alone please bring an extra handler to stay with your dog so you can observe the rest of the class.
This course is appropriate for dogs of all ages, sizes, and levels of physical ability. Please contact us prior to registration if your dog has shown any aggression towards dogs or humans.

Advanced Obedience: CGC Prep will take place once a week for 6 weeks. Each session is 50 mins long. The test will take place on a date following the last class. Please check back for dates and times for this course, typically offered once to twice yearly.
The Canine Good Citizen test is a 10 step test offered by the AKC that tests good manners in dogs and responsible ownership skills in their owners. Topics covered in this course include loose leash walking with distractions, accepting greetings from strangers, neutral responses to distractions, and advanced obedience skills such as sit, down, stay, and waiting out of sight of handlers. This course is appropriate for dogs that have taken a beginner and intermediate obedience course and that are tolerant of the presence of people and dogs in their space.
Taking the test at the end of the course is optional and will take place on the day following the last night of the course. AKC Trick Testing for titles will also be conducted on the evening of the test.
Fee: $275 for 6 weeks + test
